Writing articles is a great way to increase website traffic

Writing articles is a great way to get traffic to your website. It is one of the best business-building activities you’ll ever invest time in on the Internet. They can be used in dozens of different ways to generate web site traffic, build lists, brand your name, earn affiliate commissions and produce sales of your products and services.

They are, unquestionably, a vital part of any successful Internet marketing campaign.

It’s easy to write them, distribute them and use them in your marketing. Yet there is a question, WHAT should I write about in my articles?

I want to share with you some brainstorming ideas that will allow you to easily come up with a couple dozen (or more) hot ideas for your upcoming articles. I’ll share seven  fill-in-the-blank article starters along with a brief explanation to help you get started writing attention grabbing content. When you’re ready to write your next article, consider one of these under used formulas.

1. What To Do When [Enter Problem Here]
The idea with this article is to offer a solution to an existing problem by matter-of-factly addressing the issue being discussed in the article. “What To Do When You Need To Lose That Last 5 Pounds” points out a problem many dieters face and hints that the article will reveal a method for overcoming this barrier. This article’s pointed style makes it a sure read.

2. Can [Enter Solution Here] Help [Enter Problem Here]?
Similar to number one above, this article poses a question while emphasizing both the problem and potential solution. What really works here is to ask a “curiosity-building” question by providing a solution that doesn’t seem to fit with the problem. For example: If you’re trying to re-grow hair on your balding head, could you resist reading, “Can Cheerios Help Thicken Your Hair?” I don’t think so.

3. Should You [Enter Activity Here]? (Take This Quiz).
People love quizzes. They especially love to see how they measure up in some area that they are particularly interested in. That combination makes this another ezine article that gets a lot of views. “Should You Quit Your Job And Start An Internet Business? Take This Quiz!” is going to attract every dissatisfied, looking-for-greener-pastures, internet marketing wannabe on the block.

4. Seven “Must Ask Questions” for [Enter Activity Here].
This is a perfect article for the entry-level beginner in any particular field. “7 ‘Must-Ask’ Questions for First-Time Homeschoolers’ When Choosing Curriculum” is just about a guaranteed read for all new homeschooling moms and dads who don’t want to blow it for their kids. (Note: The “number” of must-ask questions can be whatever you choose.)

5. Three [Enter Topical Adjective Here] Lessons from [Enter Pop Culture Reference].
By using references to popular culture events, characters, television shows, news stories and trends, you’ll be able to get some cheap mileage from existing “hot buttons” of the general public. I recentl wrote an article entitled, “3 Word-Of-Mouth Marketing Lessons From the Academy Awards” that garnered a lot of interest. Guess when I released it? Yep, a week before the big awards show.

6. Mastering [Enter Topic Here]: How to [Enter Tutorial Statement Here] Part 1.
This is a superb article idea for a series of related tutorials. The word “master” is a bit overused at times in marketing circles, but it means to “become an expert” at something or to “achieve dominance” over something. Who wouldn’t want to “master” their activity of interest? That’s why “Mastering Weight Loss: How To Shed 12-15 Pounds in 30 Days, Part 1″ and other article in its mould make for much-read content.

7. What Kind of [Enter Desirable Object Here] Is Best For YOU?

We all want what’s “best” for us, don’t we? “What Kind Of Internet Business Is Best for You?” indicates there is something revealed in the article that will allow me to determine which of the options available to me is best suited for me. This is a really solid article to point others towards additional resources, such as special reports, mini-courses, etc. where they can get specific information about which of the “options” mentioned in the article is most interesting and compatible with them.

So, there you have some great ideas to get you started on your next article.

Choosing an Effective Domain Name

aaa8 300x225 Choosing an Effective Domain Name

If you’re going to be in business, you are going to need to own your own domain name. Domain registration is so important. Here’s a collection of simple tips and advice to help you make smart domain name choices.

It use to be that having your own domain name added to the professionalism and legitimacy of your organization, branded you as a real business person, and made a great first impression. Nowadays nobody notices your domain name, unless you don’t happen to have one.

It always surprises me when I go to a networking event and someone gives me a business card with topsalesmantom@yahoo.com as their email address. This person might be very important. They might be a visionary leader and teacher. They might be a great business person, a generous philanthropist, and own a private island in the Caribbean. It doesn’t matter because the first impression I have of them is: “Amateur”.

A web site and an email address to match are the bare essentials for making a decent impression on someone new.

Domain Name Guidelines

So let’s get a domain name that will properly represent you. Here is what I recommend:

#1) Key words

Start with the key words your business revolves around. These key words are the words people will use to find your site or describe what your business will do for them. For example, “cleardebtnow.com” is taken, but try adding other key words in there and see what you can come up with:

Cleardebttoday.com
ClearyourdebtToday.com
StopForeclosureToday.com
ClearyourDebtToday.com

Using your list of key words will make your domain name descriptive. It’s a good thing if people can take one look at your domain name and know what your web site is about.

Using your key words will also make your domain name search engine friendly. Type some of your key words into the Google Keyword Tool to see how many people are searching those key words each month. I just purchased IncreaseMyWebsiteTraffic.com for use in marketing this web site. Type “increase web traffic” in the Google Keyword Tool and see how many people search for those key words each month. Between the phrases “increase web traffic”, “increase website traffic”, and “increase web site traffic” there are 40,000 searches for these terms a month. I’m getting me a piece of that action.

#2) Short and Simple

Keep your domain name as short and simple as possible. The shorter it is the easier it is to remember, type into a browser, and pass along to others. Many domain names are getting longer because the short and simple ones are largely taken.

I’ve taken to getting longer names (InternetListMarketingForBusiness.com) and then getting the acronym (ILMFB.com). Longer, more descriptive domain names are great for search engines and marketing online (after all, if you see the web address in an ad it doesn’t matter how long it is–you just click it and you’re there) and acronyms are what I use for offline marketing and email addresses (anyplace where people have to type something).

Try not to resort to strange spellings. You see these things a lot (EIT4U.com instead of EasyInternetTipsForYou.com). For the most part they are difficult to remember and when you say them out loud people never write them down correctly. InternetMarketingForBusinessOwners.com still works better than netmkting4bizonrs.com or something like that.

#3) .COM

Register a .com domain name. You can register a .net/.biz/.org etc… name if the .com is taken, but when people type in your web address they’ll either accidentally or purposely type in .com (accidentally because people type in .com out of habit, or purposely because people are curious what is there–either way you’re losing traffic to someone else’s site). The most popular site for this internationally seems to be Go.Daddy.com

#4) Register Many Names

Register multiple domain names. If you find a domain name that suits you then grab it. They’re inexpensive and you don’t want someone else getting it before you do. When someone else gets it first–that’s when it gets expensive.

Just ask a friend of mine. He found a domain name he really liked, started forming a marketing plan around the name and even named the company after the domain name, and a month later went to purchase it and it was taken. He had to negotiate with the new owner and ended up paying $1,500 for it. You don’t have to register .COM sites. Search engines also like .NET and .INFO.

I own dozens of domain names for many different purposes. If a domain name strikes my fancy, I go and get it. Some of them I haven’t ended up using, but for $10/year I’m not complaining.

#5) Affiliates and Network Marketers

If you’re an affiliate/network marketer of a company I’ve got some special directions on finding domain names and building your own site. Guidance on how to do this can be found on this site.

A video guide on registering, hosting and setting up money making blogs can be found here.

Conclusion

If you can come up with something simple and descriptive with a .com after it, you’ve got a winner. Put some time into this process. I’ve told you in previous tutorials to just grab a domain name so you can get started. That’s fine for getting started, but once you’ve solidified your business vision, figured out your key words, and know how you’re going to advertise your site, domain names that supports these activities becomes very important.

images 150x150 10 Essential WordPress Plugins

This article is about the top 10 essential WordPress plugins that I recommend to anyone using the WordPress. The list is in alphabetical order, not order of importance.

1)  All in One SEO Pack. Instead of trying to keep up with basic SEO on your WordPress blog manually, the all in one SEO pack places fields for your Title, Description and Keywords meta tags at the bottom of your new post page. You can even drag it up and place it right beneath where you write so that you do not forget you basic SEO tags and every article gets optimized.

2) Feedburner Feedsmith. This plugin detects every route that one may use to access your WordPress feed and channels them all to your Feedburner feed.

3) Google XML Sitemaps. This is a great one. his plugin will automatically build a sitemap for you and submit it to all of the major search engines each and every time your site is modified. Functionality includes prioritizing which pages are crawled as well as feedback as to whether sitemap submission was successful or not.

4) Login LockDown. This is a great plugin that assists in protecting against those brute force attacks where some script on some server in some country decides it is going to crack your installation. This plugin reduces the number of login attempts from a specific IP range to a small finite number. This one is definitely essential.

5) NoFollow Free. By default, WordPress adds the no-follow attribute to all commenter URL’s. This is great if you are worried about leaking PR but bad if you are worried about deterring SEO conscious visitors. This plugin removes the no-follow attribute allowing you to show a little “link love” to those who comment on your blog.

6) TweetMeme Retweet Button. Are you part of the Twitter craze? Even if you are not, many people are and many fellow tweeters are looking to pass along useful information to their followers. The TweetMeme Retweet Button allows your visitors to easily post a link to your article to their Twitter as well as TweetMeme account. This gives your article great potential to go viral.

7) WordPress Database Backup. This one really needs no explanation. It is an unfortunately reality that databases are corrupted, servers fail, hackers hack, sometimes we accidentally hit the delete button and then save. Always back up your website on a regular basis. No excuses.

9) WP-CopyRightPro. This is one of my favorite plugins in that is disables the ability of the visitor to highlight, right-click, and copy the text on your webpage. This goes a long way to protect your work from individuals looking post it on their own site. This plugin was actually shown to me by a good friend of mine.

10) WP-SpamFree. With the rise of blog commenting as an SEO tactic as a means to gain back-links so many years ago, SPAM has become one of the fore-front issues facing bloggers. The sheer number of SPAM comments can literally overwhelm your blog if you are not prepared for it. Many comment posters are automated bots. Comments can easily number into the thousands if a keen eye is not kept on the pending comments que. This plugin automatically checks comments against an algorithm written to detect spam-like comments. The majority of SPAM comments are filtered out on the front end. Any that slip through will have the option of having their IP address blacklisted. This is a great plugin.

And…. one for luck! WP OnlyWire Auto Poster. Social bookmarking is a great way to get traffic to your website. The WP OnlyWire Auto Poster auto-submits your posts to around 39 different social bookmarking sites. Like WP EzineArticles, this plugin assists in gaining back-links as well as driving additional traffic to your website.

So there you have it. Ten essential WordPress plugins that will greatly enhance the security, functionality, usability, retain-ability, survivability, sustainability of your blog among other things. Hopefully, you gain as much from these plugins as I have.

How to Get Back Links

Google measures your websites overall relevancy based on who is linking to you. It’s a way for them to quickly evaluate your website and to connect it with a specific niche market.

Backlinks also count as votes for your website, and the more votes you have, the higher ranking you’ll receive – plus, developing a solid backlink campaign can help you rank for some remarkably competitive keywords that you otherwise might not be able to secure. Plus, when you work towards developing a targeted backlink campaign, your website will not only gain higher positioning, but it will appear more frequently.

backlinks street sign 300x200 How to Get Back Links

Search engines determine how relevant your website is not just by the NUMBER of back-links pointing to your website but by WHO is linking to you. This means that not only do you want to focus on building a high number of back-links but that you also want to focus on quality back-links that are housed on authority sites.
This means that you want to do your best to develop back-links on established websites in your niche. These are sites that have been around for quite some time, have developed a following, established a community and of course, receive a significant amount of traffic each day.

There are many different ways to begin your link building campaign and while many of the traditional strategies can be time consuming, once you have developed a solid back-link structure and begin to increase your search engine positioning, you will be able to easily maintain it.

Search engines love blogs, and back-links posted on authority blog spaces will give you instant search engine “juice”, with very little work involved.

When it comes to generating back-links with blogs, you need to:

1) Find blogs that provide a ‘do follow’ (the only kind of blogs where a link back to your site will count as a “vote”.)

2) You explore and read the blog and then you make an insightful, useful or relevant comment to the post that is likely to be approved by the blog’s administrator.

3) Include your back-link with relevant anchor text on the blog.

4) Repeat the process again

You can also generate a valid backlink by creating your own remotely hosted blog as well.

These sites often have substantial authority with search engines, so they have the potential to provide some of that authority to your own sites. You also have fewer rules to deal with that you would at a site like Squidoo or an article directory, so you can link to your own site in every post if you wish. You could even link to it multiple times in a single post as long as you don’t go overboard and you provide quality content.

The main requirement most blog hosts have is that you post quality content. They don’t want their sites to turn into massive link farms, and they don’t want to host a bunch of untouched PLR or stolen content.

There are two main blog hosts:
http://www.blogger.com
http://www.WordPress.com

The main difference between Blogger.com and WordPress.com is the fact that Blogger allows affiliate links and WordPress doesn’t. If you host a blog on WordPress.com instead of your own domain, you won’t be able to make any “commercial” posts.

You could link to your own blog, but if you aren’t careful, it could be seen as commercial and be taken down.

Blogger does allow commercial posts, as long as you are careful to post quality content. You want to make sure your blog doesn’t look like a “splog” (spam blog) or it could be taken down. The best advice is to make a new blog for every main keyword phrase you wish to rank for, and making at least 5-10 posts of at least 200 words on each blog. This way it looks like you are actually contributing real content. If you create dozens of blogs each with one post, you will probably be flagged.

When generating backlinks from established blogs and authority communities, you can include your back-link within the website URL attached to your post as well as within your actual comment box (if permitted).

When creating your back-link, make sure that you use anchor text to describe the website where you are directing people to. To do this, you need to include a bit of HTML code to create your back-link with anchor text:

You want to make sure that you include relevant keywords within your actual anchor text so that you can rank for specific keywords.

One thing to keep in mind as well is that you should never use keywords that are already a part of your website title or domain name but instead, focus on including keywords that you hope to rank for but are not already optimized or included on your own site.

Here’s an Action Plan to get you started:

Step # 1: Download the free Firefox plugin available from SEO Quake and use it to locate blogs that allow back-links (dofollow): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir…tion/seo-tools

Step # 2: Create a keyword swipe file of relevant keywords and phrases relating to your niche market that you can use within your blog comments.

Step # 3: Create individual pages on your website that feature high quality content and articles that are likely to attract attention from visitors to the blogs that you post your comments on.

Step # 4: Use the free Comment Hut software to pinpoint blogs based on keyword and customized search terms to quickly locate relevant blogs in your niche market (all of which offer do follow back-links)

Step # 5. If you choose to speed up the process of submitting to websites you should think about purchasing www,Roboform.com. (There is a free version that will work on a trial basis).

Step # 6 Make sure that you include a relevant description with each submission, including your primary keywords that are focused on your target market.

Step # 7 Avoid keyword stuffing when creating your website’s description.

How to set up a successful landing page

Also known as the “name squeeze page” or “lead capture page”, you can build your mailing list by funneling all of your potential subscribers through the creation of an effective landing page. Not only do you do the work just once, your traffic driving efforts can be focused onto just one effective method.

The following are tips in creating a successful landing page that converts visitors into subscribers on a very huge percentage.

Success Tip 1: Offer a freebie in exchange for your visitor’s email address. I very much endorse this method of building your mailing list. You can offer a special report or a sample of your paid product to your visitor in exchange for their details such as name and email address.

Success Tip 2: The landing page must be written professionally. When writing your page, treat it as if you are writing a sales letter. While you are not necessarily making a hard sale or try to get someone to buy your product upfront, being able to entice your visitors to give their details to you is just as important as selling.

Success Tip 3: Other than your opt-in form and perhaps important disclaimers and terms, there shouldn’t be any other links on your landing page.

Success Tip 4: Rub in the benefits of the freebie you are offering more than a mere subscription to your newsletter. You should focus most of the attention of the letter on encouraging your prospective visitor to download your free offer. Later, you gently remind your prospect that he or she has nothing to pay but just merely subscribe to your newsletter in exchange for the freebie.

As a final reminder and conclusion, in order to build trust, you can include your hand-written signature or a photo of yourself explaining where you are coming from and how you can help your visitor through your free report on offer.

Google Sniper 2.0 Review – helping you Create Websites to Make Money

itsnot 150x150 Google Sniper 2.0 Review helping you Create Websites to Make Money

What it's not

If you want to make money online free you must ask yourself if Google Sniper 2.0 is for you. This updated course released early in 2011 is useful to the internet novice and seasoned marketer.

What is Google Sniper 2.0?

Google Sniper 2.0 is a product created by Englishman George Brown. In recent years he has grown to become a leader in affiliate marketing. The Google Sniper 2.0 system is a way to create websites to make sales on autopilot.

A sniper is someone who aims accurately at a target. Google Sniping is the art of building one page sites that rank in search engines very well without the need to build links and off-page optimisation.

Websites are created using the easy to use WordPress platform. The course teaches you how to make simple sites that rank very well in Google and other search engines because of excellent on-page Search Engine Optimisation.

Using downloadable or online videos George shares his methodology. He explains his secret keyword research method, how you should choose the right affiliate product to promote and details on how to create the sniper sites that search engine will love.

How does Google Sniper 2 Work?

To use this system you need to be practical but not technical. Once you have invested in the course a step by step programme is offered to show you how to create websites to make money.

In summary the core course covers:

  • Detailed instructions on how to pick the right winning product
  • How to select Key words
  • Purchasing your domain and creating your site
  • Designing the look and feel of the site to drive conversions
  • Loading your site to the World Wide Web
  • Getting ranked on the search engines = traffic

There is nothing complicated in any of this. George is a smart guy and his warm tone and experience is evident throughout the course. Backing the video training which you can watch online or download is an extensive 100 page manual.

Does Google Sniper 2.0 deliver?

Since George launched the first version of Google Sniper has helped 1000s of people create online home based jobs for themselves and useful second incomes. 50 documented people have given up there days jobs and make great incomes from Sniper sites. Personally I have made £2,000 in a matter of weeks. Other ‘snipers’ I know have made over £50,000.

If I have the original Sniper Course should I update?

If you have the previous version I recommend you invest in this new one. The updates take it to a new level. Updates include:

  • Google Sniper 2 is totally transformed covering the changes made by Google.com and using the corporation’s keyword search
  • All the videos are new and presented by George.
  • Google Sniper 2.0 has new case studies to exactly show you how to implement the system, trouble shoot and members area
  • The “Empire” module has been added.  This update will show all of the users on how to automate and outsource the process of building sniping sites to build your own online empire, making long term money without the need to refresh your sites.
  • Guidance on how to make your own products and then to sell them to hungry buyers.

My conclusion for Google Sniper 2.0

The Internet is full of scams, gurus and promises. Google sniper 2 is a professional,  great quality product that can take you from scratch to a healthy living. George has made his mark and his money and continues to do so whilst sharing his knowledge with his customers. The system works and provides real results. This is a great course to help you earn money online.

I really recommend you to buy Google sniper 2.0. You have nothing to lose. It comes with a 60 days money back guarantee, as George says if you don’t like his voice he will refund your money. But I really don’t think it will get to that.

How much does fresh content matter in SEO

aaaaasaaa How much does fresh content matter in SEOAnyone with a website knows that search engine optimization is a critical part of marketing.

So, how much does fresh content matter in SEO? Having frequently updated content is one of the core principles of SEO success. However, unless you integrate other key principles of search engine optimisation, fresh content will not matter.

It is a good idea to have fresh content, as many search engines, including Google, feed on it, and will usually give a higher ranking to a site that has updated and fresh content. However, standing alone, it does little, or nothing to get you rankings.

Some of the other things you need to be doing to get SEO on track include the following, as well as many other things:

1. Create quality content. It doesn’t matter what else you do, if your content is crappy, your SEO will be crappy. The reason is that traffic drives more traffic, but if people don’t like what they see, they won’t be coming back for more. If the site is poorly made, and the content is irrelevant, or not useful, they are not going to keep coming back. However, on the flip side, if they find that they always get value, and that they are sure to find consistency in when there is content, what the content gives them, etc. they will visit your site.

2. Build internal and external links. Linking is a huge part of SEO success. The first thing you have to do is optimize your internal links, making sure the right keywords are optimized, and that you are providing the right link text for back links. You want to make sure that you spend time on this, as it is completely within your control. Next are the external links. You get these by doing things like getting on local listings and directories. You do this by asking people to link to you. You do this by providing a “link to this page” box on every page you have on your site. Of course to do this, it overlaps with the first thing, and you have to have quality content that people want to link to. Take the time and effort to build your links externally and internally.

3. Optimize keywords. The next thing you want to do is optimize your keywords. You want to choose the keywords that are most relevant. You want to ensure that each page is optimized for specific keywords (usually no more than 3 per page), and that those keywords are in the title, and in the text.

If you do the above things in conjunction with providing fresh content, you will soar to the top of SERPs and find that Google, Yahoo! Bing, and other search engines love you, and rank you. High rankings is the kind of marketing tactic you need to achieve to be successful.

Ways to increase Search Engine Optimization

How to Use Google Adsense

What is Google AdSense?

Google.com earns most of its revenue by allowing other website owners to advertise on their search result pages. All this is managed through a program they call AdWords.

Now you can earn a share of the revenue that Google earns from AdWords by placing these same text ads on your site.  In other words, you’re helping Google advertise and they pay you a percentage of what they earn.

This program is called AdSense.

Every website owner should be involved in this.  It’s just too good of an opportunity to pass up.  Even if your site is just for information purposes, you can still participate and make decent money with AdSense — or at least enough to fund your website.

So if you are one of those people that don’t like the idea of paying for a site, this is an excellent way to earn your money back and then some.

Even if you earned as little as $10 in a month, it would more than likely cover some or all of the costs for your web site.  Perhaps you are simply looking for ways to add additional revenue to your website, then it’s perfect for that situation too.

This program is getting so popular, people are creating websites just to display the ads and profit from Google’s AdSense alone.

I don’t usually like to use the term “easy money” because there really is no such thing. You still have to create your own website and learn how to bring in traffic in order to make good money with this program.

I certainly don’t want to make it sound like you get something for doing absolutely nothing.  There’s no such thing.

However, I’ve got to say that AdSense is probably the closest you’ll ever come to fast money on the Internet — especially if you already have a website that gets a good amount of traffic.

What’s even better…the program is completely free.  You can also use it on multiple websites and there is no limit to the amount you can earn.

If you go to google.com and do a search for almost any keyword phrase, you’ll notice some “Sponsored Links” that appear on the right side of the screen that are relevant to the keywords you just searched for.

Website owners pay Google to display these ads and are charged a predetermined amount every time their ad gets clicked by a web surfer. With the AdSense program, you will display these same text ads on your site just like Google and get paid for it as well.

All you do is copy and paste some provided HTML code into your pages and Voila! the ads will show up. Every time an ad is clicked on your site, you will receive a certain percentage of what Google receives from the advertiser.

Once your account reaches $100, you’ll receive a check in the mail.

It doesnt get any easier!!
